Highly Qualified Teaching Staff
Cedar Ridge is proud that all of our teachers have qualified for status as Highly Qualified Teachers as required by the State of Oklahoma and U.S. Department of Education.
Cedar Ridge also has teachers who are Nationally Board Certified.
Parental Involvement
Cedar Ridge has been recognized by the National PTA Council with the Parental Involvement School of Excellence award. This award is given because of the number of hours Cedar Ridge parents and grandparents volunteer and the quality of services they provide to the school. This award also recognizes the communication and support between the school and our PTA and parents.
PTA Reflections
Reflections is a PTA-sponsored activity that allows students to showcase their talents through student writings and fine art projects.

Principal
Michele Spencer
Michele Spencer was named principal of Cedar Ridge Elementary in 2018. She previously served as assistant principal of Ellen Ochoa Elementary and Briarglen Elementary School. She previously served as assistant principal for the 6th/7th Grade Center in 2015, moving from Jefferson Elementary where she had served as assistant principal. She had been named administrative intern at Jefferson Elementary School in the summer of 2014. Spencer has been with Union since 2000, serving as a teacher in a number of capacities. Spencer was a fourth grade teacher at McAuliffe from 2000 to 2006 and a teacher and Language Arts Specialist at Rosa Parks Elementary from 2006 until 2013. She served as a Carrera Academic specialist for the 2013-2014 school year.
Spencer was named a school site Teacher of the Year at both McAuliffe and Rosa Parks Elementary School. She has served in Leadership Union, as well as a grade-level team lead teacher, presenter on Everyday Mathematics and Lucy Calkins Writing workshops and assisted the district with writing CRTs in both language arts and math.
She received her bachelor’s degree from Langston University and her master’s in education with an emphasis on English as a Second Language from the University of Central Oklahoma. She received her administrator certification through The University of Oklahoma.
